Giving a Spirit Score
Spirit Score Guidelines:
- Teams should not lose Spirit points for enforcing a 4:3 ratio (if appropriate). Captains can agree to play a different ratio, but are under no obligation to do so. It is disrespectful to your own team to play a ratio that is not beneficial to your team’s enjoyment / competitiveness / value for money.
- Below is a procedure for giving spirit that teams can follow to get a spirit score:
Start at 0

- They knew the rules (or were receptive to learning them), add 1 point_____
- They were courteous and polite in all aspects of the game, add 1 point_____
- They played safely, with respect for our players’ wellbeing, add 1 point_____
- Even if I disagreed with them, they made fair calls, and were open to discussing them, add 1 point_____
- They tried really hard to make the game fun, add 1 point_____
- Other team cheered us and congratulated us on good plays, add 1 point_____
- They played hard, but never at the expense of good sportsmanship, and they didn’t abuse the rules, add 1 point_____
